Launch Meeting of ‘Improving the Combustion Mode and Security Running Control Strategy to Decrease the Pollution in Northeast of China’ (UK-CIAPP\201) was held at Jilin Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd on March 30th, 2017. The meeting was chaired by Professor Yingai Jin from Jilin University. Prof. Yuying Yan, Chair in Thermofluids Engineering and Head of Research Group of Fluids & Thermal Engineering from University of Nottingham, Dean Haitian Sun from the Department of Boiler, Senior Engineer Zhiyu Song and Dean Zhi Xia from Department of Thermal Control Engineering of Jilin Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd, CEO Jiatong Guo from Changchun Hecheng Xingye Energy Technology CO., LTD, and Vice President Hai Song from China Guodian Corporation Jilin Longhua Changchun No.1 Cogeneration Plant attended the meeting. The execution plan schedule, responsibilities of different parties, and the scheme and goal of the Project were discussed and determined during the meeting.
After the launch meeting, Prof. Yuing Yan and his colleague Prof. Jie Zhu visited the College of Automotive Engineering (CAE), Jilin University and introduced the state of the art in their research field to Prof. Chuanxue Song, Dean of CAE, Dr Shanxing Li, Chair of College Council of CAE and some professors and students from CAE.
The research group from Jilin University which leaded by Professor Yingai Jin investigated Datang No.3 Cogeneration Plant and Huaneng Baishan Gangue Power Plant. The researchers communicated with the engineers from Datang No.3 Cogeneration Plant and Huaneng Baishan Gangue Power Plant and investigated the key topics included in the project of UK-CIAPP\201. They deeply studied the operation condition of the boiler of the plant, and the challenges in the system operation.
The project is supported by the Royal Academy of Engineering under the UK-China Industry Academia Partnership Programme scheme, and it is presided by Jilin University. The University of Nottingham, Jilin Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd, Changchun Hecheng Xingye Energy Technology CO., LTD, and China Guodian Corporation Jilin Longhua Changchun No.1 Cogeneration Plant are engaged in this project.
